Buying Guide
Electric Scooter Law Philippines: Buyer Checklist
Rules for electric scooters, e-bikes, e-trikes, and light electric vehicles can change by vehicle class, route, and local enforcement. Use this page as a buying checklist, not as legal advice.
Start with vehicle class
Before buying, ask the dealer what vehicle category your preferred model falls under and whether that category affects registration, license, helmet, plate, or road-use requirements.
Check your actual route
A vehicle may be acceptable for private, subdivision, or barangay routes but restricted on selected major roads. Local rules and enforcement can differ by city.
Do not rely on old posts
Many social posts and older videos are outdated. Check official LTO issuances and local government announcements close to your purchase date.
Official references to check
Rules can change. Use these official references before making final riding or registration decisions.
